Matt Anderson has been the administrator of The Osborn in Rye, NY for past 15 years. Matt has over 20 years’ experience in the aging service field. He was a Fellow in the 2008 LeadingAge national Leadership Academy, served on the Selection Committee from 2009-2011 and served as a coach for Academy classes 2011 and 2012.Matt is a 2008 winner of LeadingAge New York’s Thomas Clarke Memorial Award and currently serves as the treasurer of the LeadingAge New York Board of Directors.
An adult care executive, Mr. David J. Gentner, MPA, NHA, CASP has been at the Wartburg in Mt. Vernon, New York since 2004. He previously served as Vice President, Health Services and became Chief Operating Officer in 2006 and Interim President Chief Executive Officer in 2010. In his current position as President and CEO, Mr. Gentner has positioned the Wartburg for unprecedented growth with the opening of new state-of-the-art facilities for Rehabilitation and Friedrichs Adult Housing. Mr. Gentner has dedicated his career to the care and well-being of older adults. In 2005 he was awarded the New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (NYAHSA)’s* Thomas Clarke Memorial Award for personal integrity and professional dedication in an administrator under 40. In the same year he was named the American College of Health Care Administrator (ACHCA)’s New Administrator of the Year. Most recently, Mr. Gentner was in the American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (AAHSA) Leadership Academy Class of 2010. Prior to joining The Wartburg, he was President and CEO of Grace Manor Health Care Facility Inc. in Buffalo, New York. Mr. Gentner is a licensed nursing home administrator in three states. He holds a Master’s in Public Administration from SUNY College at Brockport and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SUNY Empire State College.
Michele Holleran, MBA, PhD, DeArment Consulting, Facilitator, is founder of two firms: Holleran Consulting, a full-service research firm offering satisfaction studies, leadership assessments, and community wellness profiles; and DeArment Consulting, specializing in strategic planning, organizational health and leadership development.
She holds a PhD in organization and management from Capella University and an MBA from The Pennsylvania State University. Her dissertation topic was on culture change and leadership in aging services. She has facilitated many board retreats and strategic planning processes for aging services organizations across the United States.
Michele was the first chairperson and co-facilitator of the Leading Age Leadership Academy, a year long leadership development program for emerging leaders in senior living and aging services. She has served on the Quality First task force, is a member of the Leadership Circle, a sponsor of LeadingAge’s Women In Leadership initiative and the Leadership Summit. She has presented at numerous AAHSA conferences on the subjects of strategy, leadership, quality and trust. She is also a much-requested facilitator at state conferences and leadership events. She has written extensively on the topic of leadership for Future Age Magazine. In addition, she is the author of five Leading Age publications entitled: “Six Key Leadership Behaviors That Support Culture Change”, “Customer Satisfaction as a Discipline” “Best Practices in Aging Services”, “Culture Change in Aging Services” and “The New Rules of Strategic Planning”. In addition, she conceptualized and led a design team to formulate an international forum of senior living leaders and technology experts called The Innovators Summit, held in 2011 at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Following this forum, she wrote “Innovation in Senior Living” for LeadingAge. Michele Holleran has helped LeadingAge affiliates in seven states create and implement customized leadership development experiences for their membership. She has also worked with two not-for-profit multi-site organizations, ABHOW and Ecumen, designing leadership experiences for their staffs.
Laurie Mante joined The Eddy in 2002 and has held several key management positions in the organization, which is highly regarded for the quality healthcare, housing and services it provides for seniors in the Albany Capital region. Prior to accepting the position as Executive Director at Community Hospice, Laurie served as the Vice President for Residential Services, where she had operational responsibility for seven skilled nursing facilities, six day care programs, and residential and community dementia services. She was the operational project manager for the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, the first Green House ® community in the Northeast, which opened in 2008. Also during her time at the Eddy, Laurie served as the Administrator of the Eddy Cohoes Rehabilitation Center and Eddy Heritage House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Robert T. Mayer, has been the Vice President of Finance of Menorah Campus, Inc. and each of its Subsidiaries since 1995. Mr. Mayer graduated from Canisius College with a BS in Finance and also graduated from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester with an M.B.A. in Finance, Applied Economics and Corporate Accounting. Mr. Mayer is a Certified Management Accountant and a Certified Financial Manger. Mr. Mayer is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Leadership Buffalo and a member of the LeadingAge Leadership Academy class of 2010.
Bob stated, “I am looking forward to serving as a Director of LeadingAge New York at a very challenging and exciting time for our field. At times like these it is important for senior living and services providers to have a strong organization that can be an effective voice for providers all across New York as many critical decisions are being made that will have an impact on our field for many years to come. I hope that by being a Director of LeadingAge New York I can in some small way help to shape a positive future for seniors in New York State. I take the responsibility of being a Director seriously and will work hard to continue the excellent work that has been done to make LeadingAge New York a powerful and respected force in Albany as well as a valuable resource for its members.
Gregory Poole-Dayan has been a leader in long-term care for over 17 years, and is currently the administrator for Schervier Nursing Care Center, a 364 long-term and rehabilitation center in the Bronx, New York. Greg earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Master’s degree in Nursing at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. As a fellow in the inaugural Leadership AAHSA class of 2007 (now the LeadingAge Academy), Greg learned the power of reflective leadership in transforming practice, and that we are all lifetime learners.
Ruth Tietz is The Director of Marketing and Development at Baptist Health System and has been employed there for the past eight years. Prior to joining Baptist Health, she cultivated an extensive background working in various capacities of media for over 20 years, including Director of Non-Traditional Revenue with CBS-6/WRGB Albany and Director of Marketing for WGNA. Ruth is an Alumni of The Leading Age Leadership Academy, Class of 2008. She enjoys bringing her two dogs, Izzie and Kieran to work with her at Baptist and watching the joy they bring to the residents and staff. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time kayaking on The Great Sacandaga Lake with her partner Dan, being active with The Schenectady Boys & Girls Club’s Promises Mentoring Program and sharing her love of Yoga with others.
